Welcome to Our Reading Room!

Grab a cup or whatever of your favorite indulgence, put your feet up, and prepare to escape into other worlds, new adventures, and fascinating—if sometimes twisted—minds.

Don’t know where to start?

Chapter Ones: We understand that you may not know us or our writing, and we want to fix that. Call it a blind date. You get to check us out before deciding if you want to commit or not. Come here to check out the first chapter of each of our novellas and full-length books before you buy.

  • There’s nonfiction for those of you who believe learning is like breathing: you should indulge in it as much as possible!
  • If you’re in the mood for love, then you might want to slip between the covers of a Sassy Lassie–oh, yeah.*
  • But if you’d rather have your pants scared off, then turn on all the lights, lock all the doors and windows, and sneak into the pages of a Deadly Medley.
  • Young at heart and into fantasy? The Dancing Dragon is waiting for you where literally anything can happen.

*NOTE: Just to clarify: Although some of our adult fiction may (or may not) include erotic scenes, we do not publish pornography. To understand the way we distinguish between the two, please see our writer’s guidelines.

Short Stories: Perfect for those times you want to get away from it all for a while, but time is short. Many of our short stories are “spin-offs” from our novels. Secondary characters have lives, too, and short stories give you glimpses into what’s up with them “behind the scenes.” Some of these stories fill in background and history as well. They can enrich the worlds and lives you’ll read about in the full-length novels.

Essays: The wise among us learn from the experiences and revelations of others. Their thoughts and opinions can enlighten us and remind us that our view isn’t the only one. They can open our minds and hearts to the best in ourselves and those around us. They can be well-worth the time.

Poetry: Poetry is minimalist verbal expression in perfection. The poet must say the most with the fewest words, and do it with rhythm, and innuendo, and deep thought—and truth. Truth the soul recognizes. Truth the heart grasps. Truth the mind embodies. Without truth, there is no poetry.

So there you have it. We hope you stay a while and enjoy yourself! We’ve left words for you—a virtual trail like the proverbial breadcrumbs that may lead you home again. Happy hiking!

A book a day keeps the boredom away.
